A Busy Week at RSNA 2013

Since Sunday morning when we first opened our booth, there has been a non-stop stream of visitors interested in learning more about our solutions. From answering questions on the spot, to providing demos of our solutions’ capabilities, we’ve kept quite busy, which is something we are thankful for.

Prior to this year’s RSNA, we released a handful of solutions that revolve mainly around three trends: leveraging data to drive performance; workflow automation; and self-service and universal access.

In terms of leveraging data, we launched two analytics tools (Intelerad Analytics and Intelerad Patterns), that will provide a way for organizations to continually improve the way they operate and enhance relationships with their referrer base. In a competitive marketplace, these tools will drive performance and bring further success by allowing radiology groups and departments to accomplish more in a day.

For workflow automation, we enhanced the Image Fusion module in IntelePACS 4.8.1, and have updated our Multi-Method Reporting module to ensure that radiologists are reporting with a preferential workflow, with the ability to leverage voice recognition or InteleDictation, to maximize their productivity. In addition, this latest version of IntelePACS provides further value across an extended imaging chain through the solution’s Technologist Tools in IntelePACS 4.8.1, which gives them a proper worklist, patient alerts so they know when a patient has arrived and can assign them a room, and a notes function to increase communication with radiologists.

Meanwhile, for front office staff, we have updated InteleRIS with a Mammo Reporting Module to drive their productivity. In the New Year, we will take this a step further by adding a Scheduling Portal to InteleRIS that will enable self-service for patients and referring physicians. We provided demos of the Scheduling Portal this past week in an effort to gather feedback, and were quite happy with the positive response we received.

Analytics for Radiology: Drive Operational Efficiency and Better Understand Your Referrer Base

In the radiology industry, the ability to gather and analyze business-related data can be a distinct competitive advantage.  To help our customers outperform the competition, this month we released two analytics solutions: Intelerad Analytics™, which provides practices with actionable insight regarding their overall performance; and InteleConnect® Patterns, which provides a deeper understanding of their base of referring physicians.

Intelerad analytics radiology

Intelerad Analytics provides comprehensive, real-time data that is compiled into role-based dashboards and reports for business managers, chief radiologists and support staff. By presenting tailored information this way, we save customers time by eliminating the need to manually crunch volumes of data.

With the data in-hand, it can be analyzed and actions can be made to continually refine and improve, which can be tremendously beneficial to organizations. Not only does improved operational efficiency positively affect a practice’s bottom line, doing so while simultaneously increasing your quality of service will raise customer satisfaction, which leads to improved retention rates and attracts new business.  

The other analytics solution that we released this month is InteleConnect Patterns. Built directly into the InteleConnect Referring Physicians Portal, it provides key insight that allows practices to better understand their referrer base. Through this information, practices can develop strategies to promote further engagement and grow their business.

With real-time geographic, acquisition and behavioral data sourced directly from the Portal, InteleConnect Patterns allows users to better understand where referrers come from and how they access and leverage the portal. It also provides information about how the portal is accessed in terms of desktop vs. mobile platform. This data is laid out clearly in dashboards and reports, and can also be set-up to monitor changes in traffic patterns or other statistics.

We understand the importance of referring physicians’ engagement and believe that InteleConnect Patterns will play a key role in enhancing the way radiology practices engage with their referrers.

A thank you to our customers

As we wrap up RSNA today, I just want to say thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to have a look at the solutions we’ve been developing and to discuss matters related to the industry. Amongst those who passed by were customers who we greatly appreciate and value. It’s always a pleasure to sit down to discuss how they’re using our solutions and provide us with feedback.

In the past year, our list of customers has continued to grow. Part of the reason for this is the strong references we receive from existing customers when asked if they should deploy our solutions. We are also thankful to our customers for the survey responses that they provided to KLAS, which saw us named as the #1 ranked ambulatory PACS provider for the sixth straight year. In their press release on Sunday, KLAS described us as an innovator example that is strongly endorsed by their customers.

It’s always a proud moment, not only to win awards like this, but to hear such positive feedback being provided by customers to third parties. It’s reassuring to know that our customers are happy, and helps drive us to continue developing advanced solutions and providing the industry’s best support. The confidence it provides us also makes us want to expand our customer base and put our solutions in the hands of more radiology groups. Thankfully, we’ve been able to accomplish year after year.

This week, while attending RSNA, we were happy to have announced new customers. The first is TRA Medical Imaging, who are based in Washington State. One of the region’s largest radiology groups, TRA selected InteleRIS as it radiology information system. Given the group’s goal to be the premier radiology group in the Pacific Northwest, it is satisfying to have them put their faith in our solution. In return, we place to provide a RIS with the functionality, versatility and support to help them accomplish what they’ve set their sights on.

We also announced a deal with Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s Radiology Associates, a hospital-based radiology group that services a number of health centers in the region, reading 250,000 studies per year. As a group looking to increase efficiency and grow their business, they chose to deploy IntelePACS and InteleOne. Given our expertise in complex, distributed environments, I am confident that our solutions will help drive their success in the coming years.

Welcome to RSNA!

After months of preparation, the big day is here – the start of RSNA 2012! The journey to get here actually began months ago as we started laying out plans for how and what we wanted to showcase at this year’s event. It’s been a long haul, but we made it, and can’t wait to start showing off the fruits of our labor.

As in years past, we wanted to put together an inviting booth to provide present and future customers with a comfortable space to meet with Intelerad staff. Needless to say, we are quite happy with the way the booth turned out. If you haven’t seen it yet and want to stop by, we’re located at booth 4814 in Hall A of McCormick Place’s South Building. Below, you’ll see some pictures of the booth being built over the past few days. If you’re not attending the show, but would like a quick video walkthrough, we’ve made one available here.

At our booth, you’ll be able to speak with our team of product experts to answer any questions you may have regarding our solutions or perhaps receive a demo and ask any questions. Having launched three new products (Flow™ by Intelerad®, InteleConnectTM Clinical Hub and Nuage™ Disaster Recovery Services™) in the past few weeks, we have a lot to share with you. The booth will also play host to a couple of events that might interest you. On Sunday at 11 a.m., we’ll be presenting Radiology Business Journal’s list of the 100 largest radiology practices. For a little fun at RSNA, we’ve installed digital graffiti wall at their booth and will have a digital graffiti artist painting a mural on the wall. If you’d like to try your hand at the wall, feel free to come down and express yourself. We’ll give you some digital spray cans and then print your design on a mouse pad for you.

Before I sign off, I just wanted to remind you that Intelerad is sponsoring the first annual RSNA 5K Fun Run, which benefits the RSNA Research & Education Foundation. The run, which already has more than 450 people registered, starts at 6:30 a.m. at Avery Field in Chicago’s South Grant Park. It’s a great event for a great cause – hopefully we’ll see you at there!

Autumn at Intelerad

With RSNA taking place at the end of November, autumn is always an exciting time at Intelerad. Across the company, our teams are going the extra mile – preparing to showcase new products, booking demos with people attending the show and scheduling meetings with existing customers. The show is always memorable for us and we’re working hard to ensure that this year is no different.

Our new booth this year will include a number of interactive elements that we look forward to unveiling in the coming weeks. The booth itself is #4814, which is located in the South Building, Hall A. If you’re attending the show, please feel free to stop by and say hello. We’re always happy to chat – in fact, some of our closest customer relationships have started from casual conversations at RSNA.

At the booth, we will also be demoing our Distributed Radiology Solutions. If you want to learn more about Intelerad’s product suite for medical imaging, it’s a great chance to meet with our solution experts and to learn about upcoming new releases. As you may have read, we’ve recently introduced InteleConnect 4.4.1, which is the latest version of our referring physician portal, and we’ll have more new product announcements in the next couple of months that we’ll be eager to show as well. At RSNA, we will also be sponsoring the 5K Fun Run, which benefits the RSNA Research & Education Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to improve patient care by supporting research and education in radiology and related scientific disciplines through funding grants and awards to individuals and institutions that will advance radiologic research, education and practice. We’re proud to be supporting this cause and look forward to getting out for a run with everyone. In addition to RSNA, next week we will be holding our own event – the first-ever InteleOne Visionary Forum. This event will gather some select Intelerad InteleOne customers to discuss how they are leveraging the solution, provide input for the solution’s product roadmap, and share their vision for the future of medical imaging. KLAS Senior Director Ben Brown will unveil the highlights of the KLAS Research on InteleOne and Nadim Daher from Frost and Sullivan will provide an overview of industry trends. We are really excited for this event, and are grateful to everyone who’s taking time out of their busy schedules to take part.

We are looking forward to meeting with everyone we can in the next couple of months. Until then, we’ll be working hard!
