Progressive Radiology using Intelerad solutions to expand into Illinois

by Paul Atkinson, Marketing Community Manager, Intelerad

Congratulations to Progressive Radiology on the recent acquisition of five imaging centers in the Chicago area. An Intelerad customer since 2009, the newly-acquired centers will focus on providing MRI services, increasing the total number of MRI procedures they perform by 17%.bonhomme

The largest radiologist-owned and operated medical imaging practice in the Maryland and Washington D.C. area, Progressive is built upon a principle of providing accurate, precise results on which patients and referring physicians can depend. With this new acquisition, Progressive’s operation now includes 15 centers and 19 board-certified radiologists.

Like their Maryland and D.C.-based imaging centers, Progressive’s Illinois-based centers we will be using IntelePACS® as their technological backbone. Designed to facilitate enterprise-wide viewing, the solution enables Progressive to maintain a central archive in Maryland, where images are routed and stored, while their Chicago-based radiologists are using InteleViewer™ for reading and reporting on studies.

According to Dominic Mezzanotte, Progressive’s Director of Information Systems, deploying Intelerad’s solutions to the new centers went smoothly, and the new radiologists are quite happy with the transition to InteleViewer.

“Transitioning these five new imaging centers to IntelePACS has been almost seamless,” said Mr. Mezzanotte. “Thanks to the solution’s ease of use, we haven’t missed a beat. Our radiologists up to speed only required a couple of hours’ training, and since that time have really embraced the solution. In fact, they love it.”

IntelePACS and InteleViewer Performance – a Radiologist’s Perspective

By Paul Atkinson, Marketing Community Manager, Intelerad

ProScan Imaging is a unique radiology group based in Cincinnati, Ohio. One of the largest privately-held teleradiology companies in the world, the organization is made up of 26 outpatient imaging centers across seven states, and provides services to over 300 locations around the globe. On top of that, they also own and operate WorldCare Clinical, which collects and assesses medical images in support of clinical research trials.

An Intelerad® customer since 2006, ProScan’s 30 radiologists use IntelePACS® exclusively to read more than 350,000 studies every year. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with some members of the ProScan team to discuss how they are using our solutions. A full case study, featuring a video interview with their President, Mike O’Brien, can be found on our website.

What I wanted to present here was an interview with Dr. Malcolm Shupeck, to provide the radiologist’s perspective of how Intelerad solutions are helping to drive his performance.

Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics selects IntelePACS to boost medical imaging and its outreach programs

Intelerad solution to propel radiology workflow using InteleViewer, Multi-Method Reporting and the InteleConnect portal.

“Intelerad was selected for many reasons, among them its people and outstanding service offering, but it is the IntelePACS performance and reading workflow that really impressed our radiologists and will enable their home and remote reading capabilities,” says Jean Ann Breedlove, CIO of Children’s Mercy. “IntelePACS will also allow us to extend radiology as a service component of our outreach programs for the region, which is a very important service that we provide to the outlying areas, having a huge impact on how we carry out our pediatric care and respond to emergency trauma cases.”

IntelePACS and InteleOne to embed Fovia’s High Definition Volume Rendering

IntelePACS 3D will be showcased at RSNA2010

With the increasing amount of data acquired by modern modalities and the growth of teleradiology, embedded high performance volumetric rendering is a must have for all radiologists reading cross-sectional data – whether from local or remote workstations. Intelerad uses the latest technology to boost 3D performance and speed for its distributed radiology solutions.

Intelerad’s IntelePACS 3D will add power to Intelerad’s InteleViewer reading software by employing intelligent, hybrid client and server rendering technology. It will also optimize speed through its multi-mode image streaming design, while taking full advantage of 64-bit and multicore CPU resources for top performance.

Intelerad is taking advanced visualization to the next level with their focus on accelerating the radiologist’s reading workflow,” says Ken Fineman, Chief Executive Officer of Fovia. “They are pioneering the next generation of personalized presentation display, while pushing system performance for advanced 3D processing.”
