As a distributed radiology solution provider, today marks asignificant day for our industry – the first-ever International Day of Radiology (IDoR 2012). The event is an initiative by the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR), and was established to build awareness in regards to the value of radiology and the important role that radiologists play in healthcare.
The International Day of Radiology falls on November 8, which marks the day in 1895 that Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered the existence of x-rays. A total of 56 radiology-related societies in Europe will take part in the International Day of Radiology, each with their own unique activities. In North America, a further 21 societies will also take part in the event.
Here at Intelerad, we marked the day with an internal poster campaign and provided staff with literature so they could learn more about the industry that we are dedicated to serving. We also took the event organizers’ suggestion and asked employees to take a picture of their hand and post it to Instagram using the hashtag #IDoR2012. Some of our marketing team’s hands picture is posted below!
Happy International Day of Radiology to you all and look forward to seeing you at RSNA in a few weeks’ time!
